Definitions

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual, such as a name, an email address or an online identifier. Processing means any operation performed on personal data, including collection, storage, use, disclosure and deletion.

The controller is the party that determines the purposes and means of processing personal data. For this website the controller is the operator named in our legal notice. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean that controller.

What data we collect

This is an information website and we deliberately keep data collection to a minimum. We do not run gambling services, we do not take payments and we do not ask you to create an account.

We may process the following: technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited, collected through server logs and any analytics tools described below; contact data, such as your name, email address and message, if you choose to contact us through the contact page; and consent records relating to cookies. We do not knowingly collect special category data, and we do not collect data from anyone we know to be under 18.

Legal basis for processing

We process personal data under the UK GDPR on the following bases. We rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for non-essential cookies and analytics, which you can give or withhold through our cookie controls. We rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for operating and securing the website, including essential server logging, where those interests are not overridden by your rights. We rely on taking steps at your request (Article 6(1)(b)) where you contact us and we respond.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We use strictly necessary cookies to make the site work, and, only with your consent, functional and analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used. Analytics data is used in aggregate to improve content and is not used to identify you personally.

Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with service providers who help us run the website, such as hosting and analytics providers, acting as processors on our instructions and under a data-processing agreement. We may disclose data where we are required to do so by law or to protect our legal rights.

Where a provider transfers data outside the United Kingdom, we take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection, such as relying on adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses. Retention periods

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Where processing is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
